Sunday School
When we were children, one of the most fun times we had was on Sunday mornings when our parents took us to church and we spent time in Sunday School learning about our Lord Jesus Christ, doing crafts, and making new friends. It is a real blessing to spend even the shortest time listening to the wonderful stories of how much our God loves each and everyone one us!
At Saint Matthew’s, this is no different. Our Sunday School classes are centered on the Word of God and the blessings that come from faith in Jesus Christ. We teach the importance of a Christ-centered life and how we can use our talents to help those in need in our community.
Grounded in faith in Christ and powered by the Holy Spirit, Sunday School at Saint Matthew’s allows all children to expand on their knowledge of God and how they can use that knowledge in their everyday lives.
Our education courses are taken from the Growing in Christ series, published by the award-winning Christian publishing company Concordia Publishing House.
Won’t you please consider registering your children to be part of a faith-building education experience?
Registration is open all year round. You can sign your children up by coming to church and filling out a Registration card that is found on our involve table in the church proper or in our church office.
The cost? FREE.
The only thing we ask is that our children make a small donation to our Saint Matthew’s Food Pantry — a can of vegetables, a box of pasta, or anything that you feel is good!
We look forward to seeing you!
But, there is more…
SATURDAY AFTERNOON SUNDAY SCHOOL
Simple because our society has changed so dramatically during the past several decades, Sunday Schools have seen a dramatic drop off in attendance and registration because there are so many activities that are now offered on Sundays. Here at Saint Matthew’s, we are taking the step to try and eleviate the problems of “too much to do on Sunday” by offering Sunday School on Saturday afternoons.
Beginning at 4:15pm, our Sunday School meets downstairs at church and lasts until the start of our 5pm Worship service. Parents are, of course, encouraged to stick around through Sunday School on Saturday by participating in your child’s education experience (we may even throw on a pot of coffee). And we wholeheartedly encourage all our children on Saturday to stay for our spoken worship service at 5pm.
